ESTUDIO DEL USO GASTRONÓMICO Y MEDICINAL DE LAS PLANTAS NATIVAS DEL CENTRO CULTURAL UNI-SHU DE LA COMUNA CHIGUILPE.

RESUMEN

Ecuador posee una diversa vegetación con propiedades útiles para el ser humano, tanto en lo gastronómico como medicinal, desde la antigüedad por los shamanes y en la gastronomía por las mujeres tsáchilas quienes preparaban los alimentos aprovechando todos los nutrientes y vitaminas provenientes de estas plantas. La presente investigación tiene como objetivo realizar un estudio taxonómico y fitoquímico para identificar la composición de las plantas de los tsáchilas. Se revisó la bibliografía existente sobre las plantas para conocer el uso que le dan los indígenas de otras regiones del Ecuador. Se realizó investigación de campo sobre su importancia y beneficios en la medicina tradicional tsáchila, así como sus propiedades fitoquímicas en el laboratorio de Bioquímica y Farmacia de UNIANDES. La información expuesta a los visitantes sirve para resignificar el conocimiento ancestral en lo gastronómico y medicinal de los nativos de la comuna Chiguilpe de Santo Domingo de los Tsáchilas, lo que redundará en el mejoramiento de su calidad de vida.

STUDY OF THE GASTRONOMIC USE AND MEDICINE OF THE NATIVE PLANTS OF THE CULTURAL CENTER UNI-SHU DE LA COMUNA CHIGUILPE.

SUMMARY

Ecuador has a diverse vegetation with useful properties for humans, both in gastronomic and medicinal, since ancient times by shamans and in gastronomy by tsáchilas women who prepared the food taking advantage of all the nutrients and vitamins from these plants. The objective of this research is to carry out a taxonomic and phytochemical study to identify the composition of tsáchilas plants. The existing bibliography on the plants was reviewed to know the use that the indigenous people of other regions of Ecuador give to it. Field research was carried out on its importance and benefits in tsáchila traditional medicine, as well as its phytochemical properties in the laboratory of Biochemistry and Pharmacy of UNIANDES. The information presented to the visitors serves to resignify the ancestral knowledge in the gastronomic and medicinal aspects of the natives of the Chiguilpe commune of Santo Domingo de los Tsáchilas, which will result in the improvement of their quality of life.
